Small Pieces Big Pieces

BY LILIANA BORGE 2019

Presented at the exhibition "Et lite stykke Norge" the 15th of May at Gallery Din Lømmel in Tønsberg. It is a group exhibition where the artists interprets the term "a small piece of Norway".
I made this spoken word work where I adressed issues about the distribution of nature resourches in Norway, inspired by three years of study in Tromsø

111710

BY LILIANA BORGE 2017

Sound installation where i edited recordings of underwater sounds. As I was working the sounds that emerged were similar t those “space sounds” done of planets of our solar system. In this sound installation the sound shifts between four speakers in an irregular pattern, and it was presented with 4 speakers standing in a room on pedestals. You cound walk around to follow the sound.

Lokkesang // Glassdrops

BY LILIANA BORGE 2017+2020

Lokkesang or "lure" is a fairytale leading to nowhere, a lure to lead you to a dead end. I did recordings inside a satelite antennea in Kongsberg Satelite Service on top of Tromsø island. The antennae was broken and the signal would go nowhere, the same as this sound work would lead you to a dead end in a corridor. Maybe you could hear it from far away and wonder where the sound came from.

ISOME // In Search Of Musical Elements

BY LILIANA BORGE 2018

In Search Of musical Elements is a sound installation where the sounds are about discovering musical elements in everyday and mundane sounds. Field recordings, contact mic, beats and different elements recordings as well as animals.

Working with a speaker, light filter and sound and vibrations. I had help to make a 3D printed hemisphere for the speaker, by Markus Garvin.

LOS//Language Of Soft (front page on the web site) was the other half of this project

Short Term Experiments

BY LILIANA BORGE 2016

Sound installation where video were projected on a metal sculpture in a dark, small room. The video reflected off the sculpture and made a light show in the room. The sounds are recordings of doors creaking, athmospherical sounds and sounds repeating on a loop. Editing the sounds they got a mechanical …. that I used.

(no) Sleep (night) Walks

BY LILIANA BORGE 2020

Field recordings from nightly walks in and around Oslo during lock down in 2020.

It was strange and nice to see how the animals emerged and could take up more space when the streets were empty. Because of lack of sleep and frustration and as a combination with foraging of wild herbs I brought a sound recorder with me on these walks and it became a nightly ritual and kind of a sound walk

Language Of Solids

BY LILIANA BORGE 2018

I made the sound work, Language of Solids, for an exhibition called S E A and Solids that I did with Elind Rui Blix. The sound is made by field recordings and recordings of metals and glass where I attempted to capture the sharp sound of light, inspired by reflections and sunlight.

I also made a video work “fail sea” with Language Of Solids that can be viewed here:
